Weekend Projects

My parents came into town this weekend to work on projects. Now that Max is on the way they'll be spending more time here. This weekend we completed the following:

Nursery - Roman shade is up and functioning. Crib is all put together now with the mattress in. They took the changing table home to strip and repaint white. I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Garage - Most of the Christmas decorations are up in the attic. We still need to take down some lights. Garage is cleaned up and back in working order. Kris can pull into the garage again!
Backyard -
Part of the Christmas lights were taken down. More wood is cut up. Ready to be burned or thrown away. We have a lot out there so we have to use all available options.
Guest Bedroom - Mom & I hung curtains last time she was here. They're too pretty not to post.

Upcoming project list:
Power wash house and patio
Finish clearing wood in back yard
Paint the windows frames and back door frame.
Paint front door
Cut down trees in backyard
Trim trees in front yard
Clean out flowerbed

He weighs 14 oz and is on track for a delivery date of May 26th!! Seeing my sweet baby is the best birthday present a girl could ask for!

My office got me this cute cookie cake.

Zuppa Toscana

This is my favorite soup when it is cold outside!

Ingredients:
1 lb ground Italian sausage
1½ tsp crushed red peppers
1 large diced white onion
4 Tbsp bacon pieces
2 tsp garlic puree
1 quart of chicken stock
1 cup heavy cream
1 lb sliced Russet potatoes, or about 5 large potatoes
¼ of a bunch of kale

Saute italian sausage and red peppers, put aside. In the same pot add onion, garlic and bacon. Saute until onions are soft, add chicken stock and potatoes; bring to a boil. Cook potatoes until soft. Add sausage, cream & kale; warm back up and serve!!

I am 21 weeks today!

How your baby's growing:
Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like he's practicing martial arts as his initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to his activity as you get to know him better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now.

Half Way There Little One

Today marks our half way point. We're 20 weeks today. Within the next 20 weeks (give or take) I'll get to meet our little boy Max. I've started to feel him moving around. The first time was on New Years Eve, Kris & I were on our way to see our friends Alison & Aaron. It's an amazing little feeling. I have felt him every day now since then. It definitely feels more REAL to me now.
